Dear Burbank 111 Families,
I’d like to thank our families for making their learning environment selections last week. We’ve received responses from 93% of families indicating their selection for the remainder of the school year. The link to the form is still available for the remaining families and those who do not make a selection will automatically be assigned to the full remote learning program.
The data from the selection forms is currently being reviewed and plans are getting ironed out for a return to in-person instruction in early November. The plan gives families the option of hybrid in-person instruction or full remote learning. The hybrid plan will be at least two days a week of in-person instruction for four hours in the morning. It will be an A/B schedule with Group A attending Tuesday and Wednesday and Group B attending Thursday and Friday.
We understand that our younger students have struggled the most with remote learning and we are looking to increase in-person instruction for the lower grade levels. Depending on the number of students participating in the hybrid program, we are hoping to have students in early childhood, at-risk pre-k, kindergarten, and 1st grade attend in-person instruction for five half-days a week. We will share an update with families once the plan is finalized.
We’ll continue to keep our families updated via the website, social media, and School Messenger.
Dr. Franzy Fleck
