News from Prairie Trails Public Library

The Prairie Trails Library Youth Services Department has four New AWE Learning’s All-In-One Workstations Platinum.  These workstations are for ages 2-12 and deliver 175+ award winning, pre-loaded educational software titles on the workstation. With no internet required, the AWE workstations offer a safe learning environment on a digital platform. All content is STREAM-aligned (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art and Music, and Math). Educational titles include handwriting (including cursive), e-books (fiction, non-fiction, and poetry), coding, comic books, cyber safety and so much more. The content is closely aligned with school curriculum.  Parents and Children are welcome to the youth services department to try out these great new educational titles.  Check out their current newsletter for more information on the workstations and other services offered at Prairie Trails Library.

COVID Vaccine Clinic at Burbank School

Burbank School District 111 has partnered with the Illinois Department of Public Health to host a COVID vaccine clinic for adults and children age 5 and up.  The clinic will be held at Burbank School on Saturday, January 22 from 9: am to 3:00 pm.

District 111 Young Authors Contest

New this year, Free Lunch Applications must be submitted through the new parent portal TITAN School Solutions.  Simply go to the TITAN website at https://family.titank12.com and click on “Sign up today!” to begin the process of making a new account.  In order to successfully link your student(s) to your account, you must enter the first name, last name, and date of birth for each student.  Students must be linked to the account in order to submit a free lunch application for your household.

At-Risk Pre-School Screenings

Burbank School District 111 will be conducting a Developmental Screening for 3-4 year old children on January 26, 2022.  The purpose of the screening is to determine the educational needs of your child.  Qualified personnel will conduct a developmental screening in the following areas:  motor development, speech/language, thinking skills, and vision/hearing.  Click here for more information.
