Fee Waivers and Uniform Reimbursements

The Board of Education recently adopted revisions to Board Policies 4:140 and 4:145 concerning Fee Waivers and Uniform Reimbursements.  Effective for the 2012-13 school year, students receiving Free/Reduced Meals will no longer automatically receive fee waivers.  The eligibility criteria for waiver of student fees and/or student uniform reimbursement is as follows:

1. The gross income of the student's household is at or below the levels established annually by the United States Department of Agriculture. Written evidence of eligibility shall be required of each person applying for a waiver (W-2, unemployment status, paycheck stubs, etc.)

2. The student or student’s family is currently receiving aid under Article IV of The Illinois Public Aid Code (Aid to Families with Dependent Children).

3. Other extenuating circumstances which prevent the student's parents/guardians from affording his/her child's uniform. Such circumstances may include, but may not be limited to the following: unusual circumstances caused by fire, flood, or storm damage; severe illness or injury in the family.
